Today, a delegation from Laghu Udyog Bharati met Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss trade challenges caused by tariffs imposed by the United States and preparations for the upcoming India Stonemart. The delegation formally extended an invitation to the Hon’ble Minister, emphasizing the importance of her presence to highlight government commitment to promoting India’s natural stone industry on a global platform.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the adverse impact of U.S. tariffs on Indian exports, particularly from Rajasthan’s gems & jewelry, handicrafts, garments, and stone industries. The Minister assured that the Central Government will soon announce a relief package for exporters to compensate for the losses. He also emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to boost exports through various Export Promotion Missions.
The delegation underscored the heavy losses being faced by exporters in Rajasthan’s gems & jewelry, handicrafts, garment, and stone sectors due to steep tariffs. Minister Goyal assured that the Central Government is actively working on a relief package to address these challenges. He further highlighted initiatives under the Export Promotion Mission, aimed at strengthening India’s presence in global markets and enabling MSMEs to access new opportunities.
Additionally, Minister Goyal invited the delegation to the India Stone Mart, scheduled to be held in Jaipur in February next year.
