Diya Kumari Inaugurates Jaipur Architecture Festival 2026 at India Stonemart, Highlights Rajasthan’s Stone and Architectural Heritage

The Jaipur Architecture Festival 2026 was inaugurated on the second day of India Stone Mart 2026 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari inaugurated the festival, calling it a global platform showcasing Rajasthan’s architectural heritage, stone industry, and traditional craftsmanship.

Speaking at the inauguration, Diya Kumari said that Rajasthan’s stone has been used extensively in landmark structures across India and the world. From the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and Akshardham to historic monuments, religious places, luxury hotels, and iconic global buildings, Rajasthan’s stone continues to define excellence in architecture. She said this legacy is a matter of pride for the state.

Diya Kumari emphasized the need to blend traditional architectural wisdom with modern design, echoing the vision of “Development along with Heritage.” She said Jaipur, known as the world’s first planned city, holds a special place in global architectural history.

The inaugural ceremony was held at the Mugdha Convention Hall and began with the traditional lighting of the lamp. The event witnessed the presence of renowned architects, policymakers, industry leaders, institutional representatives, and students from India and abroad.

Diya Kumari emphasized the need to blend traditional architectural wisdom with modern design, echoing the vision of “Development along with Heritage.” She said Jaipur, known as the world’s first planned city, holds a special place in global architectural history.

She also highlighted the importance of platforms like the Jaipur Architecture Festival in promoting handicrafts, marble, stone, and MSME sectors, adding that such events open new learning, networking, and export opportunities for artisans, students, and entrepreneurs.

During the inauguration, winners of the 12th All India Stone Architecture Awards 2025 were felicitated across categories including exterior fencing, interior design, landscaping, and green architecture. The awards recognised outstanding architectural projects that showcased innovative use of stone and sustainable design.

Held alongside India Stone Mart 2026, the Jaipur Architecture Festival is a national-level knowledge and dialogue platform bringing together architects, urban planners, policymakers, students, and stone industry professionals to discuss architecture, urban development, and sustainability.
