A delegation led by Shri Naresh Pareek, National Joint General Secretary of Laghu Udyog Bharati, Shri Natwar Ajmera, State Vice President of Laghu Udyog Bharati, and Shri Tej Singh, State Co-Incharge of the BJP Special Contact Cell, met Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma at the Chief Minister's residence in Jaipur today.
The delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting various issues faced by the mining sector and sought practical policy interventions to address them.
- Make the drone survey policy more practical and workable.
- Exempt small mining leases from mandatory drone surveys.
- Introduce e-Ravanna facilities for tractor-trolleys.
- Increase the permissible weight limit from 2.5 tonnes to 6 tonnes.
- Bring practical changes to the rules governing the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) fund.
- Formulate a clear policy for the early reopening of closed mines.
- Ensure that the benefits of the OTS (One-Time Settlement) scheme are provided at the earliest.
- Simplify the process for resolving issues related to grazing land (charagah land).
- Remove the mandatory 5-km restriction for weighbridges at mines and instead make it compulsory to use the two nearest weighbridges.
- Authorise Mining Engineers, instead of Additional Mining Engineers, for Ravanna confirmation.
- Facilitate the mutation/implementation of mining leases in revenue records.
The delegation stated that resolving these issues would provide significant relief to small mining entrepreneurs and rural communities, while also promoting local employment opportunities.
It further emphasised that practical reforms in the mining sector could help strengthen the industry, generate additional employment and contribute to an increase in government revenue.
